I can't wait to get back to Oxford.  Work has been going fine, I'm posting this while at work.  But being back in the house with family can be tough when you're not used to each other's schedules and the duties expected of you.  No major problems just ready to be back in my own place.  I hate that I had to miss out on the wedding this past weekend, it would have been great to see everyone.  But I did enjoy the weekend at pickwick(sp?).  I got to see relatives and just hang loose for a few days.  We went out in a rented pontoon(sp?) boat on saturday which I could've swam faster than.  No tubing but a little sun.  A nature walk up a waterfall that flowed into the lake proved a big disappointment when the source turned out to be a drain.

I don't think I ever posted about my experience chaperoning the junior high trip with my church in Jackson, Christ United Methodist.  It was alot of fun, very exhausting, and a real blessing to be around kids who are serious about their faith goign into the ninth grade.  My boys were very mature and I enjoyed getting to know them alot.  Alas it's probably the last time I'll go, or even be able to.  It's been such a big part of my summer for six years.  I also go to visit my old youth group last week and see kids that I'd gotten to know through previous trips.  I even got to go to lunch with one girl about my brother's age who I really admire.

And lastly to anyone who cares, the Cardinals traded for Larry Walker last weekend.  How does that even happen?  I'm elated to add a guy with seven gold gloves, three batting titles, and a mvp award to our team.  I will admit that I'm getting nervous about the playoffs, because everything starts back at even and a long season of great baseball only matters if you keep it up.

So this is going to be my mushy post.

I really enjoyed seeing everyone this weekend.  I can't wait to come up for good in two weeks.  Football season is almost here and I'm getting pumped about that.  I love you guys.

And yes it's true, Trace does kick butt.

Hey, all.  I'm sitting in my room in Vegas.  Jay gets to enjoy actual Venice but at least I get the most expensive imitation.  My dad and I are staying at the Venetian, and are trip is winding down.  It's been a pretty solid trip.  I've been once before, so I've seen all the hotels.  Which pretty much left this trip with just gambling.  I did walk Caesar's Palace again because I enjoy it the most.

So I opened the weekend with an abysmal hour or so at the blackjack table losing absurd amounts.  Tim, my dad, was able to win it back before the trip's close.  The Mirage as well as Harrah's provided poker rooms in which you could play Texas Hold'em, with the house juicing the pots.  Friday night at the Mirage and Saturday afternoon at Harrah's were both very profitable.  But then the cards turned south Sat. night at the Mirage.  I lost almost everything that I was up until that point.

It was alot different than what you see on the television poker shows, or even the poker games in which I've played in Jackson and Oxford.  Mainly because they were limit games, three-six limits at the mirage and two-four games at Harrah's.  So it was almost impossible to buy certain players out before the flop.  They had no-limit games but the dollars were way over my head.  I won a few bucks Sat. night at Harrah's, and then had another big win game there on Sunday.  We're coming home first thing tommorrow so I'm leaving Vegas up a decent amount.

We also went to the Danny Gans show tonight.  He does impressions and is celebrated in the Vegas show circles.  It was my second time to see him and he is absolutely histerical.  He is also a Christian and his comedy show is clean.  Very impressive that a man who in his few years in the town has won every Vegas entertainment award possible, does so while maintaining his integrity in Sin City.

Wow this post is long, I'll talk to you later.

I don't really know how most people standardly open up a post.  Maybe I need a catch phrase.  Anyway I'm going to Las Vegas tommorrow (ridiculously early).  So I'll probably be incomunicado for the next couple of days.  I'm hoping to ride the upswing of luck at the poker table into a successful weekend.  I played last night and at the final chip count I had seventy-two; I was in for twenty.

So here's the big news regarding the birthday.  A friend from Jackson wants to take me out on Beale St.  Thus on July 30th anyone who wants to join us is more than welcome.  We're planning to crash at my grandparents house in Southhaven.
